Before you forgive,
learn to say: This happened.
Even if you’re not sure what it was.
Your job is to make the story,
cut the path in the woods,
throw back your head and cry out.
Don’t expect clear water
but something closer to tracing shadows.
Put your body in
and let it swirl around you.
If you let it take you
you will go far beyond it,
you will come to a whole new river.
